Beautiful trail to the Hvanngil Canyon - really a hidden spot in Iceland.
After around 500 m we were a little bit off from the original route because we didn’t take care enough of the marking of the trail, so we followed some sheep tracks and came back to the normal trail after approx. 1 km. The trail is marked …

Today we hike from Stafafell, a 100 year old farm with church and enchanted cemetery, to Hvannagil Gorge with its colorful rhyolite mountains.

Pathfinding is complicated by alternatives trampled by sheep, so we always have to swing back to the Komoot Mastertrack. From kilometer 5 pink flags mark the way. Another mountain run?
