For the adrenalin junkies among you, I recommend the rapid descent with the double rope slide 120 meters down into the valley just above the water of the dam Wendefurth.

Walking the bridge is really great. Due to the corona, this is currently only possible in one direction, on the dam wall next door you can then go back and see the imposing bridge from the side.

March 19, 2025,Von Elbingerode nach RoteStein (HWN054)
After the Harzdrenalin Megazipline, a leisurely hike to the RoteStein with views of Wurmberg and Brocken.

On my last day in the Harz, I wanted to go to the Rappbode Dam and look at the suspension bridge... yes, I really just wanted to look at it, I didn't walk over it 🫣.

Anything that moves in any way and is high up makes me dizzy and triggers other stimuli 😵‍💫🤢🤮

For my mother-in-law's 70th birthday, we went from our holiday home in Quedlinburg to the Rappbode Dam. Once over the suspension bridge and from there to the Rotestein lookout point and back again. Wonderful weather and a great view of the Brocken were guaranteed! Unfortunately, the Harz charcoal kiln was closed.😭

The suspension bridge in the Harz Mountains is located above the Rappbodetal near Elbingerode and is one of the longest in the world. The huge structure is 483 meters long and weighs 118 tons.

There was still a short lap before we plunged into the traffic. The path wasn't spectacular, but the viewpoints were still worth it.

I'm finally in my beloved Harz.💚Today I'm going to show you what you can experience in just under 6 km in the Harz. Whether you're active or more relaxed - the Harz is so diverse.☺

I take the bus to the Rappbode Dam to the Harzdrenalin area (Rübeland Dam stop, Oberharz am Brocken). I stop at Fettluke, a fast-food restaurant, …

Since the bus stop for bus 260 is in front of the dam, a walk over the dam or the Titan RT suspension bridge is a great start. The conclusion not only offers a stamping station and a restaurant, but also a stop for the 260 bus.

Redeemed a gift at the Megazipline today.
Then another promising round on the Rappbode am Rotestein.
The conclusion was at the Harzkohlerei Sternberghaus
(there the wooden sculpture was made by the recently deceased Brocken Benno).
The Harz always works.
