Surwold Observation Tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

The observation tower in the family and leisure park "Surwolds Wald" has been one of the attractions of the park for many decades, along with the summer toboggan run, the climbing park, the fairytale forest and the mini golf course. The view over the northern Hümmling down to the Meyer shipyard and the sea radio towers near Ramsloh is fantastic. The only downer are the antiquated opening times. After 5 p.m. there is no more entry, which by the way costs 1€ for adults. So it would be better to keep access open, like on the Mordkuhlenberg in the Dammer Mountains.

Playground at Märchenwald

Highlight • Rest Area

Here you can play and romp. The fairytale forest and the summer toboggan run are next door. Also for the physical well-being is taken care of and in the shade of the trees one can have a great picnic.

Wacholder Grove Börger

Highlight • Natural

Heath farmers with their flocks of sheep and goats have shaped the landscape for centuries. Young trees were bitten by the goats so that the heather could develop optimally. The goats didn't like juniper. The result is a beautiful heathland that has been preserved here despite modern agriculture and forestry.

Please note that you can only enter the juniper grove from Friday, 2 p.m. to Sunday. It is located on military grounds and the paths are only open at these times.
