Today we're catching up on yesterday's tour... We set off a little earlier and are at the entrance to the Almbachklamm. The weather is kind to us at first, but then it pours heavily; fortunately we are at a hut. When it subsides, we march on. The gorge is really recommended. Because the weather is not ideal, few tourists are …

The Almbach Gorge: 2.8 km long
Difference in altitude: 220 m
Walking time: about 2 hours
(more than?) 320 steps (someone couldn't count any further than 320 😄)
1 tunnel
168 m of niche paths
29 bridges and footbridges
At least for the moment, it does not have as massive a body of water as most other gorges. It's more …

Twenty years ago I brought a marble ball (the tiger's eye!) From the ball mill at the foot of the Almbachklamm. Today we visited the wild gorge again: Relatively easy circular hiking trail with many rapids and smaller waterfalls. The way back is characterized by great panoramic views of the Berchtesgaden Alps.

It was another very nice day 😃!
We entered the Almbachklamm from the Kugelmühle, a really beautiful gorge. It was a circular route back via Ettenberg😍.
Unfortunately the inn in Ettenberg wasn't open 🤷, but we had snacks with us 😅 and enough to drink 😃!!

It was a very nice tour. Entry to the gorge costs 6 euros, with a guest card 5 euros. It went steadily uphill and only then went down very steeply for the last few kilometers. You should be sure-footed and free from giddiness. Bridges over the gorge are sometimes a bit higher and you can see through below.
Fortunately it …

The GPS reached its limits in the gorge, but the path there is impossible to miss.
The descent is quite steep and strenuous. There is a flatter option from the inn/pilgrimage church.
Otherwise one of the most beautiful gorge tours that I know.

Today we went through the Almbach Gorge on narrow and interesting paths. The path led via the Theresienklause and Ettenberg back to the Kugelmühle car park.
Tip: lentil soup at the Mesnerwirt in Ettenberg and a visit to the pilgrimage church.
The water-powered ball mill at the entrance to the gorge is the only one in Germany.

Very nice tour

Made 2 tours today. One of them is this one. It feels like the increase is more. Since today was the hottest day of the week, I picked out a few shady hikes. Many parts of it were even wet. Somehow there doesn't seem to be a lot of water flowing through at the moment. I discovered a small water …
