Kerteminde North Beach

Highlight (Segment) • Beach

Kerteminde North Beach | Funen's Best Beach
The North Beach is the most popular beach in Kerteminde. People flock to the beach from near and far to enjoy the fresh seawater of the Great Belt.

The beach is mainly sandy, while the beach further north, towards Hindsholmvej, is lined with beautiful villas. Grass and beach reeds grow there.

The North Beach is a distinctive sandy beach with many sandbanks. This means
that the water only gets deep further out from the beach. This makes the beach very child-friendly.

Approximately in the middle of the beach is a parking lot and a kiosk selling various refreshments. In the southern part of the beach is a miniature golf course. There is also a bathing jetty, courts for beach volleyball and handball, and, of course, restrooms.

A smooth bike path runs alongside the road on the beach,
where you can cycle with beautiful views of the beach.

Viby Church

Highlight • Historical Site

Viby Church is a "street church" and is therefore open during the day.
It is prominently situated on a hill. The church's distinctive feature is its 18th-century half-timbered tower. The domed extension has served as the burial chapel of the Juel family on the nearby Hverringe estate since the 19th century.

Viby Mill

Highlight • Monument

In the beautiful and well-preserved village of Viby, with its many listed buildings, you can visit the old Viby Mill, one of the largest and best-preserved Dutch windmills in Denmark.
Viby Mill was built in 1854 to replace a tree stump mill further north.
After a fire caused by lightning in 1869, the mill was immediately rebuilt in 1873 and extensively restored in the 1980s.

Hverringe Manor

Highlight • Historical Site

The beautiful three-winged manor house was built by Hans Rudolph Juel around 1790. Hans Rudolph Juel was primarily known for his service during the Napoleonic Wars, where in 1809 he led an expedition against the English troops on Romsø. 100 Englishmen were taken prisoner and due to lack of better options, they were held captive in Kerteminde Church. The manor house is still owned by the Juel-Reventlow family. Today, modern agriculture is practiced there.
