The baroque Apetloner "Hufnaglhaus" in the town center is one of the last surviving houses in the typical Burgenland style.
The exact year of construction can no longer be traced exactly - the building is estimated to be around 250 years old. The beautiful baroque house has become the unofficial symbol of the place.

The Andau Escape Route is the road that leads from the Andau Bridge across the Einser Canal to Andau.
Approximately 70,000 people fled to Austria along this approximately nine-kilometer-long road alone after the suppression of the Hungarian Uprising.
To commemorate this event, various international artists erected approximately 90 sculptures along the entire route. They stand as a visible symbol of "rejection of violence, intolerance, and inhumanity, contempt for humanity, and racism."

They were created during artist symposiums held here by the "Society for International Understanding – The Andau Bridge" association between 1992 and 1996. The sculptures, mostly made of wood, remained the property of the artists and are therefore not being restored by the public. The association also campaigned for the reconstruction of the bridge, which reopened in 1996.
