Le Lavoir

Highlight • Other

Mid-height washbasin, more comfortable for bugadières, because it allowed them to wash standing up. It was covered in 1791, thus protecting it from wind and rain. It is fed by the same source as the Vieille fountain. We do not know the origin of its construction, but its renovation in 1812 corresponds to the development of wash houses in the 19th century, responding to the increase in the population and the awareness of hygiene and sanitation needs.
The laundries were used to wash small laundry, using inclined surfaces for soaping and brushing. It was of course necessary to respect the order of the basins, the top one being reserved for rinsing while soaping was carried out in the other two.

Saint Clement Church

Highlight • Other

The parish church is dedicated to Saint Clement, patron saint of the town.
This is undoubtedly the site of the medieval church. It was completely rebuilt from 1782 to 1787 to respond to the increase in population. In 1848, the church still had no "place". Despite a petition from 150 people, there was a lack of funds to buy the surrounding houses. This now makes it impossible for anyone who wants to take wedding photographs.
Simple in plan, with a single vessel, it has been stripped of the confessionals, woodwork and side altars which decorated the interior.
To have:
Painting of the Virgin and Child, 1702.
The main altar, 1787.
The reliquary bust of Saint Clement.

The Cross of the Maures

Highlight • Monument

the Moorish Cross
"Until the end of your days you will have Christ in front of you!": These are the words that tradition attributes to Abbé Mathieu, who ordered the cross, and that he would have made to the attention of a village notable who is deeply atheistic! 6 meters high, it was consecrated on May 3, 1900. It also served for many years as a lightning rod for the village.

White Rock

Highlight • Other

The White Rocks
The plateau where this vein of white quartz is located is also the highest point of the town with an altitude of 637m, offering a magnificent panoramic view. Quartz, feldspar and mica are the main minerals that make up micaschists and gneisses, the dominant metamorphic rocks in the Maures massif.
