May 3, 2025,RB Dallgow-Döberitz - Runde durch die Döberitzer Heide, mit Obelisk
Crickets chirping, birdsong, frogs chittering... I'm sure I heard a hoopoe today.

Mostly open heathland with sandy tracks. Unexpectedly, the forest section, even with a bit of singletrack. Sand - It's like time in the wind. Well, something like that.

Being this close to the city, you have to be prepared for company, highway noise, and lots of horse droppings.

In the best summer and hiking weather, we go to the Döberitzer Heide today. Where Red Army tanks plowed through the landscape until 1991, there is now a 3,600-hectare nature reserve set up by the Heinz Sielmann Foundation with a huge core area protected from human access. Bisons, Przewalski's horses, red deer and some rare bird species can be observed …

We haven't been to the Döberitzer Heide for a long time and think that today is the right day to visit.

The start and finish is at Dallgow-Döberitz station. First it goes a short distance along the Schwanengraben and then we dive into the eastern area of the Döberitzer Heide.
