From 1990 the castle was used for the district library as it passed into the hands of the district.
From 2004 onwards, an exemplary renovation and restoration of the now listed Zöbigker Castle and its outbuildings such as farmhouses and gatehouses began, which was completed in 2010. Inside, 8 luxurious condominiums have been set up.
