The most popular destination on the loop is the Dove Hill Lookout, also known as the west viewpoint. Sitting off a short spur trail on a crest of Dove Hill, this scenic vantage point has benches where you can rest and take in wide vistas overlooking the city of Castlegar, the Brilliant Terminal Station below, and the confluence of the Kootenay and Columbia rivers. Just 25 metres north of this overlook there's a large rock cairn marking the official summit of Dove Hill hidden within the trees.
