Hiking
Sierra City is just a short walk from the Pacific Crest Trail and many hikers send a resupply packages, since the general store has limited groceries. The old mining town offers restaurants, a public library, restrooms and lodging.

The PCT crosses the road less than a mile from the little former mining town, the most convenient option for a while in either direction for thru-hiker resupply, or for getting on/off the trail. There are several restaurants, good WiFi around the public library, restrooms and various lodging options.
