The river was once displaced by a lava flow of Etna, but has recaptured its riverbed over millions of years. Up to 20 m deep and 4-5 m wide with beautiful 5- and 6-cornered basalt columns.

Mountain biking
Actually very nice but you can not do the bike tour with his own or borrowed bike !!!! Now you have to do on site a guided tour incl. Bike rented by the organizer. We were very sorry and left it. It is definitely worth seeing from above.
