The Aveiro Lagoon is a vast, 45-kilometre-long coastal wetland system in northern Portugal, celebrated as one of Europe's last remaining untouched coastal marshlands. Famed for turning its namesake city into the "Venice of Portugal," this shallow 75-square-kilometre lagoon forms a labyrinth of narrow channels, salt pans, and coastal villages.
