The historic Fontaine des Serpents (Serpent Fountain) is located at the corner of Rue Mercière and Rue de la République in Cluny.

It was built in 1789, the year of the French Revolution.

The structure has been protected as an official monument historique (historic monument) since September 1946.

The fountain is set in a large stone niche. The most striking feature is the large stone urn (urne), around which two decorative metal snakes coil, giving the fountain its name.
