After overcoming the hairpin bends of the Qafë Thore pass (approx. 1680 m above sea level), one of the most beautiful panoramas in Albania opens up. Deep below lies the Theth Valley, surrounded by the limestone peaks of the Albanian Alps, whose highest summits exceed 2600 m above sea level.

The village of Theth itself is located at an altitude of about 750 m above sea level, which means that the descent from the pass is almost 900 meters in altitude difference. For centuries, it was cut off from the world by snow and mountains, and the only connection to the rest of the country was the road through Qafë Thore.
