Since 2018, the sea dike in North Friesland has been home to a pumping station: De Heining near the village of Marrum. Thanks to a fish-friendly design and a fish passage, glass eels, silver eels, and three-spined sticklebacks can safely reach the other side of the pumping station. This is especially fantastic news for the eel.
From the top of the dike, you have a beautiful view of the salt marsh.
