At the striking crossroads of Lisselton Cross stands one of North Kerry's most recognisable religious monuments. This white statue of the Virgin Mary, placed on a tall blue plinth, is a typical example of post-war Irish devotion. The monument was erected in 1954, the "Marian Year", to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception.
