At the Ludelbach in Naila, a "growing monument for German Unity" was erected on 09.11.2014. The information board reads:
"This green, living monument stands for 25 years of reunification. Germany is growing together, just like these trees. The pine symbolizes the East. The beech symbolizes the West. The oak symbolizes the united Germany.
An initiative by Werner Erhardt. Under the patronage of Federal Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel. Supported by the Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald.
