A prominent dome that dominates the countryside between the fishing settlements of Cullen and Buckie, the Bin of Cullen is a lovely viewpoint for the Moray coastline. Hikes to the Bin of Cullen have been enjoyed for generations, with trails taking you through beautiful woodland and up to huge skies and those gorgeous sea views.

Walking routes to the Bin of Cullen often cross the paths of pine martens, squirrels and crossbills, so keep your eyes peeled as you ascend from the Scots pine plantations up onto the heathery summit slopes.

From the unique summit cairn, a grand vista unfurls all around. Nearby Cullen and its railway bridges are a fine sight directly to the north, whilst the distinctive hump of Knock Hill is seen beautifully to the south east. Morven’s conical summit stands out amongst the hills in the south, whilst the distant shapes of the Cairngorms rise in the south west. Splendid.

Accommodation options range from camping pods to hotels in the nearby coastal villages. Portknockie boasts the spectacular sea arch of Bow Fiddle Rock, definitely worth a visit after a day on the hill.
