This oak tree took root at the Sources du Loir site at the end of the 17th century, during the reign of Louis XIV, earning it the nickname "Oak of the Sun King."
It's a survivor! Here, on February 15, 1856, 17 oak trees were felled around the church. Only this one, on the edge of the land belonging to the Count of Malart, lord of Saint Éman, was spared.
It received its "Remarkable Tree" designation from the A.R.B.R.E.S. association in 2024.
It is now part of our collective heritage and must be preserved as such.
