Near the sawmill stands an old 19th-century workbench, a listed industrial monument. It was manufactured by the company Ernst Kirchner & Co. in Leipzig. This company was founded on July 1, 1887, by Ernst Kirchner as the "German-American Machine Factory Ernst Kirchner & Co." He had been captivated by American woodworking machinery during a trip and, with the founding of his company, brought this industry to Germany.
