The Middle Franconian Way of St. James runs from Stein to Rothenburg ob der Tauber and is one of the first routes to be signposted again after the pilgrimage renaissance. A number of markings with white scallop shells on a blue background point hikers in the direction of Rothenburg, from where they can continue to Santiago de Compostela in Spanish Galicia.
