Subunits of the 26th Infantry Division (ID) conducted work on the section from early August 1939. Barbed wire fences, anti-tank ditches, and combat bunkers were constructed. In September 1939, there was no defensive fighting in this sector; the 26th Infantry Division (ID) and the Żnin Defence Force Battalion, which occupied it, withdrew on September 5, 1939, to the line of the Barcin Lakes and the Inowrocław area.
