    La Tour de Buzay:
Last vestige of the powerful Cistercian abbey founded in 1135 by Bernard de Clairvaux, this 30-meter square tower stands its solitary silhouette in the heart of the Rouans marshes. Built in 1780 shortly before the monastery was destroyed during the Revolution, it is distinguished by its original dome-shaped roof with a lantern. In addition to housing the bells, its remarkable height made it an essential visual landmark (a beacon) for navigation in the Loire estuary. Today, listed as a Historic Monument, it offers a striking heritage stop amidst the peaceful landscape of the Pays de Retz.
