For 45 years the British Air Force had been stationed on the site of the former British military airport Laarbruch, now the civil airport Weeze. During the Cold War as well as in the following decade, it was a guarantee of security, peace, freedom and friendship until its withdrawal.
Here, right next to the former Royal Air Force cinema, there is also the first and only Royal Air Force Museum in Germany.
