For a long time, the blue woman, a work of art by the Aachen sculptor Klaus Schmetz, was more of an eyesore than a work of art because the color had been washed out by the rain. In between, pranksters had even tied a blue apron on her.
The "blue woman" at the Jülich culture center shines in new splendor. Kirsten Müller-Lehnen, chairwoman of the Kunstverein, gave the lady a new coat of paint herself and restored it to its original colour.
