After the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his clothes and divided them into four parts, one for each soldier, except for the tunic. The tunic was woven from top to bottom in one piece and had no seams. Then the soldiers said, "Let's cast lots for him to see who will be killed." This fulfilled the Scripture that says, "They cast lots among themselves for my clothes and my tunic."
