The Ponte Vecchio is one of Florence's most iconic monuments and one of the most famous bridges in the world. It crosses the Arno River at its narrowest point and is famous for the historic goldsmith and jewelry shops that line it, as well as for being the only bridge in Florence spared from destruction during World War II.
