"The Goldisthal pumped-storage power plant is the largest pumped-storage power plant in Germany. It has been in operation since 2004. It is located in the western Thuringian Slate Mountains on the Schwarza River. The cavern power plant has an installed capacity of 1,060 megawatts (MW). It is still one of the largest and most modern power plants of its kind in Europe.
