A Porta Nova di Évora (historically also known by the old name of the area that today corresponds to Largo Luís de Camões) is one of the most fascinating and historically rich entry points within the historic city center, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Often the term is associated with the nearby and imposing Nova Porta de Aviz, one of the monumental gates of the medieval walls of Évora, modified in 1525 for the triumphal entry of Catherine of Austria and later restored in 1804.
