    Hiking

From Lobber Point, you experience wonderful views over Port Isaac, Tintagel church and the castle beyond. Take care not to get too close to the edge, though.

Adding to Dan above: and, in addition, you can enjoy the full view over Doc Martin‘s and Louisa‘s Portwenn 🎥. By the way, did you know that almost all inside takes have been filmed in the huge barns of Roscarrock farm, just some hundred yards away from here, remotely located between Port Isaac and Port Quin.

Port Isaac to Port Quin Circular Walk

Embark on the Port Isaac to Port Quin Circular Walk, a challenging coastal hike that delivers constant, sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged North Cornwall coastline. This moderate route spans 5.8 miles (9.3 km) and involves a significant elevation gain of 561 feet (171 metres), often earning it the nickname "Rollercoaster Path" due to its frequent ascents and descents. You can expect to complete this invigorating journey in approximately 2 hours and 34 minutes, traversing dramatic cliffs and passing distinctive landmarks like the historic Doyden Castle, perched dramatically on the cliff edge.

When planning your visit, be aware that the trail includes steep climbs, numerous steps, and stiles, so a good level of physical fitness is important to comfortably navigate the terrain. While there are no specific permits or fees required, the significant undulations can make the walk feel longer than its actual distance, so allocate ample time. Parking is available in both Port Isaac and Port Quin, but spaces can become limited, especially during peak seasons, so consider an early start to secure a spot.

This circular route connects the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac with the more secluded and tranquil Port Quin, offering a unique blend of bustling harbour life and serene coves. As you hike, you will enjoy spectacular panoramic vistas and may spot coastal flora such as Sea Pinks bordering the path. The trail provides an excellent opportunity to experience the natural beauty and historical charm of the North Cornwall coast, making it a notable option for those seeking a rewarding outdoor adventure in the region.
