The short ascent to the Ehrensteinley: along the Rur, through a picturesque forest, over stony paths. When the canopy clears, it's done! A fantastic view past the summit cross is the reward for every hiker.

The climb from Monschau was quite exhausting (for me😂) with the walking sticks but it went. The view up the Ehrensteinsley over the forests of the Eifel was beautiful
