Information:
The waters diverted to the Wiederitz River have an intense red color due to dissolved ochre. The Claus Tunnel is an approximately two-kilometer-long drainage tunnel in the Döhlen Basin coalfield, located within the city limits of Freital, Saxony.
Entrance and Claus Tunnel: Construction of the Claus Tunnel began in 1725 and drains several shafts in the Pesterwitz-Kohlsdorf mining district.
