The approximately eight kilometer long path (recommended hiking direction: Neuenmarkt - Marktschorgast) overcomes an altitude difference of 158 m between the valley and mountain stations. After the hike, the Inclined Plane Documentation Center awaits you in Marktschorgast.
A good three hours should be allowed for the hike itself. Good footwear is recommended for the sometimes steep ascent and descent, which are rewarded with magnificent views.
