Beautiful waterfall before crossing the Levada bridge. The gorge before you reach it is also impressive; there is almost no protection on the Levada and it goes steeply downhill.

STATUS May 2025. The Levada Novo is barely used in the area of this hike and is still not maintained. It's truly dangerous in several exposed and unsecured spots... you can't afford a single misstep...

The beginning and end of the trail cross private property, requiring a considerable detour. The first third isn't particularly appealing, as it involves a lot of walking alongside the road. It becomes quite pleasant towards the end, but it's not suitable for those expecting handrails everywhere.

In conclusion: There are so many beautiful levada walks. I would skip this one.
