It's a demanding experience, but one that rewards you with breathtaking panoramas and the satisfaction of conquering two of the region's most iconic climbs.
This is a challenging road cycling route, covering 48.9 miles (78.8 km) with an elevation gain of 4648 feet (1417 metres), and will take approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes to complete. It's ideal for experienced cyclists seeking a significant physical challenge and who aren't afraid of extreme gradients. The area is very cyclist-friendly, with well-maintained roads.
Cumbre del Sol is famous for having been a stage finish in the Vuelta a España, making it a cult climb for many. The Sierra de Bèrnia, for its part, is also a key point in the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana. This combination of cycling history and varied landscapes, ranging from the coast to the mountainous interior, makes this route one of the most outstanding in the province of Alicante.
