Hiking

Here is an old beech forest. The remarkable thing is that there are 2 granite stones with dates and initials next to the path. What do these mean?

My dear wife and I passed through here on our hike "Eider Valley with Blue Bridge." We enjoyed the forest and the landscape. We missed this granite.
