The Harem Courtyard in the Tash-Hauli Palace, rebuilt in 1830 for Alla-Kuli Khan, his four wives and his concubines, with three courtyards (harem, feast, and court) and many rooms and iwans, because the Khan found the old palace (the Kohna Ark fortress) too small and too dilapidated. - As a museum, the palace has been made unlovable, with long rows of objects lined up, often not labeled in English, confusing in its structure (which way leads where? 2 unlabeled entrances!, leading to different parts!?!).
