Very beautiful and historic old town in Marbach am Neckar. The old half-timbered buildings are very well maintained. The house where Friedrich Schiller was born is beautifully decorated. Built on a slope, you can see it immediately, whether coming from above or below. There is a small museum inside the house.

Due to the devastating city fire in 1693, Marbach is one of the few towns in the state with an almost complete ensemble of 18th-century buildings. Since 1983, it has been a protected historic district.

On Marktstraße, the weekly market invites you to stroll and shop with pleasure on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM. More information here.

Half-timbered houses, narrow alleys, towers, and fountains characterize the image of the historic old town. It is one of the oldest rural towns in Württemberg with a city wall and medieval fortifications.
