St. Joseph's Church on the Kahlenberg is a Roman Catholic branch church of the Kahlenbergerdorf parish and has a turbulent history. Construction of the church began in 1629 under the Camaldolese and was largely completed in 1639, but in 1683 the Turks destroyed the church during the Second Siege of Vienna. Reconstruction lasted until 1734, and the church was re-consecrated in 1783 after a period of reconstruction before later being preserved as a cultural heritage site and popular tourist destination.
