In 2010, the 25-year-old Hähnel linden tree was planted, named after a popular Dipps teacher, Max Hähnel.
Slightly below the linden tree are three basalt boulders. They symbolically represent three volcanic mountains: Geising, Wilisch, Luchberg.
The Old Gate was a farm and is now used by the high school, which is located on Karl-Marx-Platz, among others.
