A section of the human rights path in Geesthacht runs here. A very good idea.
Amnesty International, the human rights organization (also Nobel Peace Prize winner), has had a local group in Geesthacht for many years.
For the 800th anniversary of the city of Geesthacht, Amnesty was able to realize the idea of a Geesthacht human rights path. 16 panels were erected between the Elbe peninsula, the Red Square and the ferry terminal to explain human rights. It was officially opened on August 18, 2016.
