    Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is New England's longest rail trail. This mostly crushed gravel path is a fantastic way to explore Vermont free of cars. This multi-use path is open to bikers, hikers, runners, horseback riders; and skiers, snowshoers, and even dog-sledders in the wintertime! The 93-mile long trail connects 18 towns from St. Johnsbury to Swanton. This particular section runs from just south of Johnson to Morrisville, a town just north of Stowe.

It's an ideal choice for a relaxed bike tour or for newer riders. The trail connects several towns, offering convenient access to amenities like cafes and restaurants, particularly in areas like Morrisville.

    As New England's longest rail trail, the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is notable for its car-free pathway and historical significance, following the path of the former Lamoille Valley Railroad. It's a multi-purpose corridor, popular for cycling in warmer months and used for snowshoeing and Nordic skiing in winter, making it a year-round destination.
