“The Boerinneke van Giersbergen” was made in memory of the 750th anniversary of the hamlet of Giersbergen (1244-1994).
“The farmer's wife of Giersbergen” depicts a Brabant farmer who carries eggs in her apron. The statue stands opposite the village pump, installed in 1951, which was restored in 1994, on the occasion of Giersbergen's 750th anniversary.
Six, largely identical, miniature versions of “Het boerinneke van Giersbergen” were made.
