Located just off the road in a ravine, Austria's only "mofette" (= the point where carbon dioxide in dry form escapes from a former volcano) is bubbling here. Because there is water at this point, it is bubbling. Due to the escaping gas, it is not without danger. The gendarmerie post commander von Klapping died here on October 26, 1905.
