Garey Park is a massive 525-acre public park donated to the city of Georgetown by Jack and Cammy Garey in 2004. The Garey family owned the land as a ranch for many years. There is a playground with a splash pad to cool off and have fun for younger children, and a fenced dog park that allows your furry companion to socialize and play safely.

The Garey Park loop offers a scenic jogging experience through varied terrain, from open grassy fields filled with wildflowers to wooded areas along the South Fork San Gabriel River. You'll encounter diverse surfaces, including pedestrian-only crushed granite paths and wider crushed limestone trails shared with horseback riders, with opportunities to spot wildlife near the river and bluebird nesting boxes along the Meadow Loop Trail.

This moderate 5.7-mile (9.2 km) jogging route features 363 feet (111 metres) of elevation gain and can be completed in about 58 minutes. Be aware that Garey Park requires an entrance fee, and while bikes are allowed on paved roads, they are not permitted on the trails. Plan your visit to enjoy the park's extensive amenities, including a splash pad and fishing ponds.

Beyond the jogging trails, Garey Park is a 525-acre natural haven with limestone bluffs, mature oak trees, and prickly pear cacti. The park also boasts a wildlife viewing blind, offering a chance to observe local fauna, and historical elements like the chimney of A.M. Brown's 1853 cabin, adding a touch of local history to your outdoor adventure.
