From 1876, the communities had to indicate the division of the state of Württemberg into Landwehr battalions and company districts on their place names. This meant that the reservists always knew where to report in an emergency. These signs are still preserved in many communities and are a historical testimony to the time of the Kingdom of Württemberg.
