On the west bank of Folsom's Lake Natoma at the American River, the park includes the historic Black Miners Bar area, the site of a gold rush era African-American mining camp. Today most of their settlement is covered by the lake. The park has a recreational boat landing and rest areas to take a break for swimming or a snack.
