There are several mills in Spittwitz. The former Rätze watermill is located directly on the Schwarzwasser and was founded in 1772. At that time it was a monastery mill. The mill is open for tours on German Mill Day. It is said that feed for chickens, rabbits, ducks and turkeys is still produced here today. You can buy it on site in bags or silos. The new Rätze mill from 1991 is located on the S111 federal highway, directly behind the Spittwitz inn.
