Nienburg's main shopping street and pedestrian zone offers a wide variety of shops and beautiful facades from different eras.
Lange Strasse runs from the "Filmeck" intersection through the former Nordertor gate to the asparagus fountain. The street is remarkably wide for an old town of Nienburg's size and served both as a grand avenue for parades and demonstrations (the annual march of the civic companies) and as a place to shelter fleeing farmers and farmers, quickly accommodating their wagons.
